OVERVIEW

Taught by industry professionals, this BA (Hons) degree course is a fantastic way to learn all the skills you need to become a successful actor on both the screen and the stage.

This is an exceptional vocational course where you will learn and train as a working actor, developing your acting technique for stage, screen and audio as well as learning skills that will make you a versatile working actor, developing your abilities for the trade alongside experts as well as learning all the relevant acting techniques. You’ll get to take to the stage at established fringe venues, tour schools, and perform at industry showcases in some of the most famous theatres in both Manchester and London.

You’ll benefit from state of the art facilities, training with some of the best in the business and audition skills taught by industry professionals. Most importantly, you’ll leave this three-year course with a wealth of experience and a professionally produced showreel and audioreel.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

We will invite all applicants for this BA (Hons) course to audition in person.

You should also have a GCSE grade C or above in English, and at least 240 UCAS points.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

The vast majority of this course is based around practical, hands-on work and experience. A typical module involves around 80% practical work and 20% written work. This could include evaluations, viva voces, annotated scripts or character studies.

You’ll complete one academic module per year that will prepare you for a final research project. This can be performed or written.

CONTINUING YOUR JOURNEY

When you’ve completed this BA (Hons) degree in Acting, you’ll hopefully gain representation with an agent and begin your career as a professional actor straight away, with a wealth of practical experience, relevant skills and industry connections.

You’ll also be well placed to develop your studies even further with an MA in Performance or a PGCE in Drama, or you might go on to become a casting agent, teacher, writer, theatre manager, or director, as there’s a huge choice of career options in the performing arts industry to choose from.

FEES, FINANCE AND FUNDING

The fees for this BA (Hons) degree in Acting for Live and Recorded Media are currently £8,900 per year.
